This short 2-day Zanzibar holiday package explores the tropical island of Zanzibar with a rich cultural and historical experience, along with its dazzling white beaches with azure waters. From Dar es Salaam, we take a flight or a speed boat in and out of Zanzibar.

Day 1: Dar-es-salaam – Speed boat or fly to Zanzibar Island
We can help arrange flights and speed boats in and out of Zanzibar. Upon arrival at Zanzibar airport or harbor, we transfer to Stone Town and begin our tour. Stone Town has narrow streets, impressive architecture, bustling markets, and small but interesting museums.

You will also see many reminders of Zanzibar’s historic involvement in the slave trade, abolished in these parts by the Sultan of Zanzibar in 1873.

It includes a visit to the former slave market site, which now stands as an Anglican church built in 1871, a town market, visit the Zanzibar Memorial Museum, the House of Wonder built-in 1883 (Beit-Al-Ajab), the old Arab Fort, Palace Museum, Old Indian dispensary (cultural center) to Maruhubi Palace ruins via Livingstone House.

Day 2: Zanzibar Island – Speed boat or fly to Dar-es-salaam
We enjoy breakfast at the hotel and then depart for the Spice Tour. During the tour, you will learn about the spices, and herbal values, in cooking food and dyeing traditional ceremonial outfits for weddings and festivals. During the tour, you will walk through villages and spice plantations.

The spice farm workers will climb up the trees, looking for fruits, leaves, and barks for you to feel and taste. You can buy fresh spices directly from the farms.

After the tour, you will be invited for a traditional Swahili lunch served in a local house. Later we shall visit the Kidichi Persian Baths built in 1850 by the first Sultan of Zanzibar as a gift for his Persian wife Sheharzad (granddaughter of Fateh Ali Shah of Persia).

After we shall transfer you to the harbor/ airport for your return trip to Dar-es-salaam.
