Day 1: Arrival in Arusha City
Upon your arrival at the airport, our representative will meet and transfer you to your accommodation in Arusha, where you can unwind and prepare for the exciting adventure ahead. Your night will be spent at Gran Melia, a luxury hotel offering a serene and aesthetically pleasing environment.
Day 2: Arusha to Tarangire National Park
In the morning, your personal safari guide will collect you from your Arusha lodgings. You’ll journey to Tarangire National Park, traveling across the scenic Maasai plains dotted with acacia trees. Along the way, you’ll see Maasai people in their vibrant traditional attire, herding cattle or riding bicycles and donkey carts. Tarangire is famed for its large elephant herds, and from the open roof of your safari jeep, you’ll experience its diverse landscapes, including seasonal swamps, savannas, and the Tarangire River, which sustains abundant wildlife.
Day 3: Karatu to Serengeti
After breakfast, you’ll continue towards the fertile highlands, passing through areas where the Iraqw people grow wheat and corn. As you ascend into the misty rainforests of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, keep an eye out for baboons, leopards, and elephants. En route, you’ll get a stunning view of the Ngorongoro Crater before heading into the vast Serengeti National Park, arriving by midday. The Serengeti, Tanzania’s largest park, features diverse landscapes from grassy plains to lakes, savannas, and mountains, offering rich wildlife experiences.
Day 4: Serengeti National Park
Spend the entire day exploring the Serengeti, renowned for its wealth of wildlife. Along with impalas, buffalo, crocodiles, and hippos, you’ll witness the famed migrating herds of wildebeest and zebras, whose movements are guided by seasonal rains. The Serengeti is also home to predators like leopards, cheetahs, and lions, making for thrilling game-viewing experiences.
Day 5: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Conservation Area
After breakfast, enjoy one last game drive through the Serengeti before heading to the Ngorongoro Crater. In the afternoon, you’ll arrive at the crater rim, offering a breathtaking first view of this natural wonder—glistening streams, sweeping grasslands, and an abundance of wildlife await you the next day. You’ll stay at a lodge on the crater rim for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater to Karatu
Following breakfast, you’ll descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, the world’s largest volcanic caldera, spanning nearly 20 km wide and 610 m deep. The crater is home to the Big Five and numerous other species, including wildebeest, gazelles, reedbucks, and over 500 bird species. Enjoy a picnic lunch at a scenic spot in the crater, followed by more wildlife viewing. Later, you’ll head to your accommodation in Karatu for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 7: Lake Manyara National Park to Arusha
After breakfast, you’ll journey to Lake Manyara National Park, a small yet diverse park located 120 km west of Arusha. The park’s shallow, seasonal salt lake is home to thousands of flamingos and over 500 bird species. As you explore, you’ll encounter monkeys, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffalo, elephants, and possibly tree-climbing lions. In the afternoon, you’ll return to Arusha, marking the end of your safari adventure.
